The National Cyber Security Centre, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), has launched Bahrain’s 2026 National Cybersecurity Awareness Campaign under the slogan "Don’t Make It Easy for Them", running throughout October as part of Global Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

The campaign seeks to strengthen public awareness of cyber threats, particularly online fraud, and promote safer digital practices to protect personal information and electronic accounts.

Shaikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa, Deputy CEO for Cyber Operations at the National Cybersecurity Center, said the campaign highlights the importance of public awareness in preventing cybercrime, particularly as fraudsters continue to adopt increasingly sophisticated methods. He urged the public to verify messages, links and calls before responding and to protect personal data and digital privacy.

Brigadier Ahmed Saad Al Rumaihi, Director-General of Anti-Corruption, Economic and Electronic Security, said the campaign reflects coordinated national efforts to combat cybercrime and protect the community from fraud and digital exploitation. He highlighted the Ministry of Interior’s continued awareness initiatives aimed at young people and other segments of society.

Mai Ali Al Ghatam, TRA Cyber Security Department Director, said the Authority’s participation supports efforts to help telecommunications users safeguard their personal data and digital accounts. She urged the public not to disclose personal information or verification codes to untrusted parties and to exercise caution when dealing with suspicious communications.

The month-long campaign includes awareness events, lectures, publications, videos and an interactive platform offering practical cybersecurity guidance. It targets all segments of society, including families, children, older people, expatriate workers and people with disabilities.
