Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, held today a virtual meeting with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)'s Resident Representative to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Stefano Pettinato. 

The Undersecretary for International Affairs hailed constructive partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Nations, lauding the distinct projects and initiatives launched by the UNDP that are aimed at supporting the efforts exerted to achieve sustainable development around the world.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla stressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, on meeting the goals and principles of the United Nations in this regard.

The Undersecretary for International Affairs also explained that the Kingdom of Bahrain provided all means and facilities for the work of the UN programmes and offices on its land, and for working together to ensure coordination and explore new opportunities. He stressed the importance of benefiting from the expertise, experiences and pioneering UN projects, to achieve national development priorities.

For his part, the UNDP Resident Representative lauded the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain to enhance cooperation with the UN at all levels.
