King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance launches second edition of Coexistence Diploma

The King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance has launched the second edition of its Joint Postgraduate Diploma in Coexistence, in collaboration with the United Nations-mandated University for Peace (UPEACE) and the GIOYA Higher Education Institute in Malta.

The programme brings together 50 students from Bahrain and abroad and focuses on preparing youth to promote peace, tolerance, and intercultural understanding.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Center’s Board of Trustees, said the initiative reflects the Center's commitment to delivering advanced educational and training programmes aligned with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed noted that the diploma covers key areas including peacebuilding, human rights, religious freedom, and international law, delivered through lectures and workshops led by global experts and leading organisation representatives.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed added that the programme also supports the principles of the United Nations Charter and the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Minister further highlighted the Center’s efforts to strengthen partnerships with international academic institutions, contributing to the development of youth competencies in research and global engagement.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed underscored the Center’s ongoing commitment to advancing education and cultural initiatives in collaboration with national and international partners, with the goal of fostering dialogue, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence.
