The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) has announced the renewal of a strategic agreement with Computer World, being the Amazon Web Services (AWS)’s approved partner for the government sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The agreement aims to centralise the management and operation of government cloud services and enhance the digital services provided to citizens and residents.
The agreement was signed by Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive of the Information & eGovernment Authority, and Mohammed Farooq Almoayyed, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Computer World. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Khalid Al Mutawa, Deputy Chief Executive for Operations and Governance at the iGA, along with a number of officials from both sides.
On this occasion, Al Qaed affirmed that the agreement reflects the iGA’s commitment to continuously developing its technological infrastructure, advancing digital transformation, and adopting best practices in cloud services management. He noted that the agreement will support the leveraging of modern technological solutions, keep pace with the rapid developments in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector, and contribute to improving government processes, optimising ICT expenditure, and accelerating the implementation of ICT projects. It will also support the development of national capabilities and enhance the digital skills of Bahraini professionals.
For his part, Mohammed Farooq Almoayyed, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Computer World, expressed the company’s pride in its collaboration with the iGA to unify the mechanisms for managing government cloud services and improve the efficiency of their utilisation and cost management. He added that the Kingdom of Bahrain has made notable progress in adopting cloud services across the region, emphasising that this agreement represents a further step towards strengthening the governance of these services, enhancing cost transparency, and improving operational efficiency.
The agreement aims to centralise the management of the enterprise agreement covering government services hosted on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. This will help ensure cost efficiency in cloud services across government entities, optimise the use of technological resources, and maximise the value of investments in cloud services.
It also seeks to strengthen the governance of these services through the implementation of unified management and operational controls, thereby supporting their security and reliability and ensuring the continuity of government digital services. Furthermore, it will enable these services to be developed and scaled in line with the needs of government entities.
It is worth mentioning that the agreement follows a tender awarded to Computer World in September 2026.
