The Youth Forum was launched on the sidelines of the Second World Conference on Water, Energy and Climate Change, underscoring the role of young people in advancing sustainability and supporting international climate efforts.

Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Bin Daina, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, said Bahrain places youth empowerment at the centre of its priorities, noting their role in advancing sustainability through innovative ideas and advanced technologies that support adaptation.

He added that the forum provides a platform to strengthen youth leadership in renewable energy, water management and environmental solutions, reflecting Bahrain’s commitment to enabling direct engagement with experts and decision makers and supporting youth efforts to deliver effective outcomes in sustainability and climate action.

The forum brought together young leaders from around the world to present initiatives on water and energy. Through sessions and workshops, participants discussed how youth creativity can help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and enhance resilience to climate change.

The first session addressed accelerating carbon neutrality through technologies and policies that reduce emissions, emphasising integration between water, energy and climate sectors. The second showcased youth initiatives applying clean technologies and community based solutions to improve resource efficiency and adaptation.

The forum concluded with a third session on challenges facing youth, including limited resources and the need for stronger community partnerships. Recommendations were presented to empower youth and expand their role in environmental and climate action.

The forum highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to supporting youth participation in shaping environmental policy by fostering an enabling environment for their initiatives and reinforcing their role in international climate efforts.
