Government Hospitals, Bahrain Trust Foundation open mini-school at Psychiatric Hospital
28/11/2025
Government Hospitals, in cooperation with the Bahrain Trust Foundation, have opened a new mini-school at the Psychiatric Hospital, the sixth of its kind in Bahrain. The initiative aims to strengthen children’s mental-health support by providing an educational environment within the hospital to complement therapeutic care.

Dr. Mariam Al Jalahma, Chief Executive of Government Hospitals, said the school represents an important step in improving services for children facing psychological and behavioural challenges, offering tailored programmes that help them develop coping skills and maintain social and educational progress during treatment.

Dr. Fatima Al Blooshi, Chairwoman of Bahrain Trust Foundation, noted that more than 10,500 children have benefited from the Foundation’s hospital schools so far. She highlighted the effectiveness of the Foundation’s activity-based learning model in supporting children’s cognitive and social development.

The mini-schools project aims to ensure young patients receive suitable educational support that aids their wellbeing and smooth reintegration into daily life.
