HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister attends the inauguration of the East Sitra housing project held under his patronage

Manama, Dec. 28 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today attended the inauguration of the East Sitra housing project, held under his patronage.

His Royal Highness highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to initiatives that enhance the Kingdom’s development. HRH emphasised the importance of programmes that benefit the Kingdom’s citizens and are in line with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision for Bahrain’s future.

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad affirmed that Bahrain’s successes in various development fields would not have been possible without the determination of the Kingdom’s people, their commitment to excellence and creativity, and their passion for progress.

His Royal Highness noted the inauguration’s overlap with Bahrain’s celebration of its National Days, the anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s accession to the throne, and the accompanying national events.

His Royal Highness highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to providing citizens with high-quality housing services through new housing developments, including the East Sitra housing project, which is one of the leading examples of such work completed in collaboration with the private sector.

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad commended the efforts of the employees of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and those of supporting ministries that contributed to the project as well.

His Royal Highness highlighted Team Bahrain’s combined efforts and determination to achieve the Kingdom’s goals, affirming that all the development objectives that would benefit Bahrain’s citizens would be achieved through these unified efforts.

His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of the Kingdom’s development to secure its leading position across all sectors and meet the aspirations of its citizens.

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships in the Kingdom's development and their success in the housing sector, noting that partnerships like these are essential to achieving the housing aspirations of the Kingdom’s citizens.

The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, HE Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi, noted that the inauguration of the East Sitra housing project is a positive step forward in the implementation of the directives of His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa to distribute 6,800 housing services to the Kingdom’s citizens.

HE Amna bint Ahmed expressed her gratitude for His Royal Highness’s inauguration of the East Sitra housing project, which coincides with Bahrain’s celebration of its National Days, the anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s accession to the throne, and the accompanying national events.

HE Amna bint Ahmed affirmed that His Royal Highness’s support of the housing sector and the implementation of housing projects will provide citizens with adequate housing and push forward new housing programmes in partnership with the private sector.

The East Sitra housing project provides more than 3,000 housing units located on 243 hectares and includes an integrated infrastructure for advanced community services and facilities. Work has been completed in the implementation of 19 KM of sewage networks and the completion of a 14 km of rainwater drainage system. Additionally, work has been completed on an 18 KM water system network, 51 KM of electricity cables, as well as the project’s communications network.

The project is situated in a strategic location with 6 KM of waterfront, an advanced transportation network, primary and secondary streets, 13 KM of pedestrian and cycle paths, spaces allocated for 24 gardens, and open areas with a total area of up to 18 square KM. The project also provides housing units designed to meet the requirements of Bahraini families.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa also attended the event along with several senior officials.
