Bahrain Showcases its Experience in Achieving SDGs through its Government Action Plan

A meeting was held yesterday at the Court of the Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, between Court officials and GCC planning and development ministry and agency representatives currently visiting the country. Evaluation & Analysis Director at the Prime Minister’s Court, Fareeda Abdulrahim Khunji presented a summary of the Government Action Plan, and its mechanisms, including its stages of approval and implementation process. She highlighted the Plan’s priorities, including its tools for following up on projects at ministries and government agencies through a daily electronic tracking system which monitors projects at their various stages, and identifies and resolves delays. Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) Acting Director of Population & Demographic Statistics, Maha Abdulla Sabt reviewed the steps taken to link this Action Plan with the Kingdom’s 2030 Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs), and Bahrain’s successes in achieving these goals. Participants shared their experience with national plans and SDGs, highlighting the importance of exchanges of this kind through meetings and workshops. The GCC government representatives extended their thanks to HRH the Prime Minister for hosting them and providing them with information on the Government Action Plan and the steps that the Kingdom has taken towards achieving its 2030 SDGs.
