The National Information Committee convened this morning at the court of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister. Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Mutawa, in the presence of committee members who are senior Government officials. He underscored the importance of information, statistics and indices in measuring the extent of progress, assess achievements in all sectors. He stressed the keenness of the Government, chaired by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa to optimize achievements and fast-tracks plans and projects towards boosting development momentum.

 He urged Government departments to supply international organisations and institutions with updated data, stressed Bahrain’s keenness on bolstering cooperation and coordination. "Supplying international organisations with accurate and updated information will contribute in highlighting Bahrain’s strides and bolstering its competitive edge in regional and international arenas", he said. The committee reviewed the procedures governing the accreditation of statistics, information, indices and national reports. It discussed Bahrain’s indicators as cited in the Global Gender Gap Report, compiled by the World Economic Forum.
