Under patronage of HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim, Public Prosecution and SCW hold forum on Bahraini women in judicial and legal fields

Under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), the Bahraini Women in the Judicial and Legal Fields forum was held under the theme "Excellence, Creativity, and Innovation".
The opening session was attended by Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, member of SCW; Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council; Dr. Ali bin Fadhel Al Buainain, the Attorney General; Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments; and Lulwa bint Saleh Al Awadhi, Secretary General of SCW.
The forum was organised by the Public Prosecution in coordination with the Supreme Judicial Council, SCW, the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, the University of Bahrain, and the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute, with support from the Bahrain Development Bank (BDB), Diplomat Hotel, NAS Consulting, and Akhbar Al Khaleej newspaper.
Shaikh Khalid bin Ali highlighted the advanced role of Bahraini women in the judicial and legal fields, linking it to the royal vision of justice and the rule of law as essential to national development. He commended the SCW, led by HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim, for empowering women and providing them with the tools to succeed, noting that this support enhances national competencies.
On his part, Dr. Al Buainain expressed gratitude to HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim for the patronage, describing it as a reflection of royal confidence in women’s role in nation-building. He emphasised the Public Prosecution’s commitment to providing a supportive professional environment for women, recognising their competence and contribution to high-quality judicial work. He also announced upcoming initiatives to further enhance the presence of Bahraini women in legal and judicial fields.
Al Awadhi highlighted the forum’s significance in celebrating Bahraini women on the occasion of Bahraini Women’s Day. She noted that the day reflects the key role of women in family life and nation-building and expressed appreciation to all participating institutions for highlighting women’s contributions in legal and judicial fields and exploring their future roles in line with Bahrain’s Vision 2030 and Vision 2050.
She emphasised that women play a central role in law-making, application, and upholding values, particularly as technological and AI advancements transform the legal landscape. She called these challenges opportunities for leadership and innovation, emphasising that the Kingdom of Bahrain is well-positioned to lead in these legal and judicial transformations. She also underlined that women’s empowerment is not only a matter of justice but key to societal progress.
The forum focused on Bahraini women’s leadership in law and their growing impact on the judiciary, highlighting their pioneering contributions and future aspirations in the legal profession. It also examined women’s role in advancing legal innovation, including their achievements in education and academic research, and their efforts in promoting the use of artificial intelligence and digital transformation within the justice sector. The discussions also highlighted the SCW’s role in supporting and advancing women’s position in the judicial and legal fields.
The forum concluded by recognising Bahraini women’s achievements in law and judiciary, reiterating their role as key partners in justice and the rule of law, and emphasising the importance of continued support to foster further excellence, creativity, and innovation, strengthening Bahrain’s leadership in the sector.
