Manama, Mar. 3 (BNA): Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), inaugurated the day case unit for biological treatments in the Internal Medicine Department at Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC).

Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, and Dr. Maryam Athbi Al Jalahma, CEO of the Government Hospitals, were present.

Lit. Gen Dr. Shaikh Mohamed bin Abdullah affirmed SCH’s keenness to strengthen efforts and follow up on projects that aim to provide high-quality health services.

He praised the level of modern and advanced medical equipment used in the unit and its role in providing the best health care to patients who need biological medications or antibiotics.

SCH President said that the unit aims to provide services in a central day care unit.

Dr. Al Jalahma affirmed that the inauguration of the day case unit for biological medicines reflects government hospitals’ interest in providing the best health services to patients, specifically those with thalassemia, rheumatism and kidney diseases.

She noted that the facility is equipped with the necessary resources, medical staff and experienced nurses, to ensure that treatment is provided efficiently and of high quality.
