The inaugural Danaat Women’s Swimming Championship, organised by the Bahrain Aquatics Association and under the patronage of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), will be held on August 22, marking the first premier women’s championship in the federation’s history.
The event coincides with the SCW’s 25th anniversary celebration and reflects the growing participation of Bahraini women in sports.
Lulwa bint Saleh Al Awadhi, Secretary General of the SCW, said the championship reflects national efforts to support Bahraini women’s participation in sports and promote equal opportunities, noting its role in identifying and developing female talent in aquatics.
Dr. Maryam Ali Abulfateh, Vice President of the Bahrain Aquatics Association and Chair of the Arab Aquatics Federation Women’s Committee, said the championship marks a milestone for women’s aquatics in Bahrain, helping develop female talent and prepare athletes for regional and international competitions.
