Municipalities Minister inaugurates two public parks in Sitra Housing City

Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, inaugurated two public parks in the Sitra Housing City.

Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, was present.

The initiative aims to enhance the quality of municipal and housing services while contributing to urban development and improving the quality of life.

The first park spans 2,104 square metres, and the second covers 2,174 square metres. Both feature multipurpose sports fields, green areas, children’s play zones, and shaded seating areas.

Minister Al Mubarak affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to launching service projects that meet citizens' aspirations and raise the standard of services across the Kingdom, in line with Bahrain’s comprehensive development progress. He underscored the ministry’s dedication to continuously developing parks and public facilities in various areas, expanding projects that increase green spaces, and improving infrastructure in parks, walkways, and recreational sites to align with community needs.

The minister noted the ministry’s ongoing coordination with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning to provide integrated services within housing projects, making use of available spaces to deliver municipal facilities close to citizens and enhance the urban and environmental character of these areas.

Minister Al Rumaihi said that the ministry works within a strategy aimed at ensuring quality of life in its current and future housing projects, prioritising the allocation of green spaces as part of sustainable city planning. She noted that the opening of the two parks represents a valuable addition to the range of services and facilities within the Sitra Housing City.

She added that housing city plans include the allocation of green spaces, open areas, parks, children’s playgrounds, and sports fields within neighbourhoods, creating an integrated residential environment that meets the needs of citizens and strengthens the social fabric of families.

On her part, MP Jaleela Alawi Al Sayed expressed appreciation for the efforts of the two ministries in implementing projects that provide safe recreational spaces for families and children, noting that such initiatives enhance the quality of life and meet the expectations of citizens.

MP Mohsen Ali Al Asbool said that the project reflects the government’s focus on improving the urban environment and providing essential amenities in new housing cities, contributing to service development and sustainability.

For his part, Saleh Taher Taradah, Chairman of the Capital Municipal Council, commended the joint efforts of both ministries in developing parks and public facilities that support community well-being. He emphasised the importance of such projects in offering accessible recreational spaces and promoting healthy lifestyles.
