Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, congratulated the parents of the first cohort of students in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP), expressing pride in the students’ strong competitive results and their performance across all stages of assessment. He also commended the role of parents in supporting and encouraging their children throughout the programme.
Dr. Juma said that the announcement of the first cohort is a major educational achievement and an important milestone in the development of education in Bahrain.
The Education Minister noted that the assessment process for entry into the International Baccalaureate programme was challenging and required a high academic standard. He added that this was to ensure the first cohort is able to progress successfully into the next stage of study, which will begin from Grade 8 in the next academic year and will differ in scope and structure from the traditional pathway.
He also commended all students who took part in the assessment process from the beginning, numbering more than 3,000 students from all public intermediate schools in Bahrain. He thanked parents for their support, which contributed to the successful launch of this leading international education programme.
Dr. Juma will meet the parents of the first cohort of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme on June 21 at the Ministry of Education hall in Isa Town.
