Skills and Gender Parity Accelerator
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), witnesses the signing of the “Bahrain Skills and Gender Parity Accelerator” Agreement with the World Economic Forum at the Annual Meeting in Davos in 2025
The Bahrain Skills and Gender Parity Accelerator was launched at the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting at Davos in January 2025, through a partnership between Tamkeen, the Bahrain Economic Development Board and the Forum. As the first accelerator of its kind globally, it focuses on closing gender-based skills gaps in high-growth sectors such as technology and manufacturing, while enhancing the participation of Bahraini women in both the current and future workforce.
Coordinated by Tamkeen’s Skills Bahrain, in collaboration with leading private-sector employers, the Accelerator combines local industry insights with the World Economic Forum’s global research. This integrated approach enables a cross-sector analysis to identify current and future gender-related skills gaps, forming the basis for a targeted upskilling and reskilling strategy, including mobilizing local talent, increasing opportunities for women, and ensuring our workforce is equipped for the demands of a dynamic global economy.
