Launched in 2011 at the initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, the "Imtiyaz" Initiative for Young Bahraini Women Entrepreneurs is awarded every three years to encourage women's entrepreneurship and highlight Bahraini women's contributions to economic development. The initiative recognizes outstanding young Bahraini women entrepreneurs who demonstrate innovation and sustainability in managing their businesses, granting them the Imtiyaz distinction and providing opportunities for business development and growth. It promotes women's economic empowerment, innovation, and entrepreneurship, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure).
